Bio & Resume
Lyn Swett Miller is a micro-climate photographer with a BA in Art History from Harvard College (1988), a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Virginia (1995), and a Masters in Teaching from The Upper Valley Educator’s Institute (2012). She lives in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA.
Miller’s first solo show, “Compost Compositions,” was in 2019. Since then, her work has been in numerous juried exhibitions throughout the United States. Her most recent solo compost exhibition, “Compost: Muse & Metaphor” was at WinCam at The Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Massachusetts.
Miller lives with her husband, two dogs, many houseplants, an extensive garden and two children when home from college. She has spent the past fifteen years trying to figure out what it takes for a suburban family of four to live sustainably. She is a founding member of the Sustainable Hanover Committee and has found a voice for her activism through photography.
Miller is happiest mucking around with the detritus of her life. While investigating compost, landfills, and other aspects of our material world, she creates visual meditations on the power of regeneration, transformation, and renewal.
The best way to keep up with Lyn is to either follow her on Instagram (@lynswettmiller) or subscribe to her newly launched newsletter, 13 Tons of Love.
